For those with limited time, this tour is an ideal initiation to a country that offers a unique combination of old and new treasures. The tour visits iconic locations in cosmopolitan Shanghai, historical Xian, the Capita city of Beijing and the charming, anciet canal town of Wuzhen.
Days 1-3: UK - Shanghai - Wuzen - Shanghai
Fly to Shanghai where the welcome dinner will be of traditional Shanghai cuisine. The next day, take an enjoyable excursion to Wuzhen, a traditional town, home to an intricate system of canals and ancient architecture renowned for its abundance of local handicrafts.
Days 4: Shanghai
Spend the day in Shanghai, often referred to as the Paris of the East. In the morning you will visit the beatiful Yu Gardens and the Old Town. After Lunch it's off to the Shanghai Museum and the famous Bund, which offers an exhibition of grand architecture dating back to he early 1900's. A look at the restored Xintiandi area of the city is next, before enjoying some shopping along renowned Nanjing Road. End the day with a stunning evening cruise on the Huanpu River, where the Colonial Bund and the futuristic Pudong come face-to-face.
Days 5-6: Xian
Fly to the former imperial capital of Xian, where you will relax and experience traditional Sui Jiao cuisine in the evening. The following morning visit one of the most important archeological discoveries of the 20th Century - the spectacular Terracotta Warriors, followed by the ancient City Wall, one of the best preserved in all of China. A Tang Dynasty dancing performance wil conclude the evening.
Day 7: Xian - Beijing
Visit the Little Wild Goose Pagoda and the Shaanxi Museum, where thousand of priceless relics are housed. Stroll through the city's lively Muslim Quarter to visit the Great Mosque before flying to Beijing. Here, visit the unique Temple of Heaven and enjoy a traditional meal, which will include the local delicacy Peking Duck.
Days 8-9: Beijing
Sightseeing today includes a visti to the Forbidden City, the largest and best preserved collection of ancient buildings in China. Also stroll through Tiananmen Suare, the world's largest public square past Chairman Mao's Mausoleum and enjoy a Chinese Acrobatic Show in the evening. The next day walk the Great Wall, which stretches for some 6,350 km, followed by a visit to the exquisite Summer Place.
Day 10: Fly Back
Fly back to theUK arriving home latere the same day filled with many happy.
